The MSHS Wrestling Team hosted the 2022 U.P. Championships on Saturday (January 22).  The team fared well on the day, earning a sixth place finish out of the 17 participating schools, despite not having a competitor in each weight class.

The day was particularly special for senior Wyatt Kuhlman as he not only took home the U.P. Championship in the 160-pound weight class and took home meet Most Valuable Wrestler honors, but he also earned his 100th career victory when he pinned Bark River-Harris’ Wyatt Raab in the event finals.

MSHS had five medalists on the day.  Below are those that earned medals as part of the 2022 U.P. Wrestling Championships:

  • Parker Kroll – 3rd Place (189)
  • Luke Mead – 4th Place (171)
  • Brady Ketzenberger – 5th Place (145)

Also included as part of the event was a special recognition for those wrestling student-athletes named to the 2021-22 U.P.
