Kuhlman, Ricker Earn Medalist Honors From Loaded Field At 2021 Marquette Challenge

MSHS seniors Wyatt Kuhlman and Chris Ricker both earned medalist honors in what was an extremely competitive field of prep wrestlers competing at the 2021 Marquette Challenge on Saturday (December 18).

Kuhlman finished fifth in the 160-pound weight class after going 4-1 on the day.  He defeated Pine River’s Cayden Mys via 9-7 decision to make the medal stand.

After dropping his first match on the day to Pulaski’s Will Friedman, Ricker rattled off four consecutive victories to end the day with a 4-1 record.  He avenged his earlier loss by defeating Friedman via pinfall in the 5th place match.

Other competitors from MSHS were Wyatt Lauer (135 pounds; 1-2 record), Lars Anderson (140 pounds; 1-2 record), Brady Ketzenberger (145 pounds; 2-2 record), Brody Caster (152 pounds; 2-2 record) and Luke Mead (171 pounds; 1-2 record).
